I have been a pretty lame project spectrum participant. I always try to pick one or two projects in the color theme, but I haven’t been the best about blogging them.
For the June/July months, I took on two main projects with lots of red.
Project 1: Sockapalooza socks
I finally finished these this week, just in time for the swap. They were knit using the jigsaw lace pattern, although Bowerbird Knits just recently posted a pattern for something similar, which she referred to as scroll lace. I knit them using Lorna’s Laces shepherd sock yarn in the miata colorway.
Project 2: Mystery Stole 3
I joined MS3 back in June, before I realized how busy this summer was going to be. I had really enjoyed my first dabblings in lace and so I thought that this project would really help me develop my skills. Unfortunately, I am finding that I can’t work on this project when I have other distractions around, like people, the television, needy cats, etc. so it has been sitting around unloved for awhile. This picture was taken after finishing clue 2. Since then I have knit about ten rows. I really do enjoy working on it, but my brain hasn’t been available enough to deal with it.
I am using Schaeffer Andrea yarn in the Clara Barton colorway. I have to say it has been a bit of adjustment to move from knitting lace with fingering weight yarn to working with really lace weight.
