**I started this post last week, but my internet at home was being spotty. It’s finally behaving itself**
I have been working on a variety of knitting (and one sewing) projects, that I haven’t gotten around to blogging about. I don’t think I can cover them all in one post, but I thought I’d mention a knit-along that I recently joined. It’s called the For Me? knit-along. The basic idea of it is that often knitters end up mostly knitting for others, and never knit for themselves. This is to encourage knitters to knit something for themselves, one thing every three months. I almost never knit for myself, so I thought it would be a good thing to join. The theme for the current knit along is shawls/wraps. I have been wanting to try my hand at lace, so I started the lotus blossom shawl May 1. (I was originally going to knit the flower basket shawl that Courtney was kind enough to send me the pattern for during the Sockret Pal swap, but Becky suggested this would be a better first lace project. She’s the queen of lace, so I decided to listen to her).
I’m knitting it using knitpicks gloss in the dusk color. Here’s a picture after the first night of knitting.
I hadn’t realized that lace (at least easy lace like this) is so addictive. It’s definitely a just one more pattern row, just one more purl row…sort of thing.
Here’s what it looked like after all of the stems had been completed.
Now I have almost finished the second lotus blossom section. I have one more section and then the bind off. (This picture is closest to the actual color.)
