This weekend, I am leaving my husband at home to play with his wii, while I visit friends in Oregon. In anticipation of the trip, I finished the mommy snug sweater. I’ll get to hand deliver it to its intended recipient.
I really like a lot of the details of this sweater, especially the mini-cables around the neck line, the finished edge of the neck, and the button bands.
While in Oregon, I also get to visit friends with a brand new, two week old baby. I couldn’t meet her empty handed, so I whipped out this baby bolero from One Skein. I used Lola from the Schaeffer yarn company. The yarn is very soft and superwash, which is perfect for a baby. To be honest, I wasn’t really liking the sweater until I had completed the ribbing edge on the front of the sweater. Then it went from ehhhh to ahhhh.
I also finished my (last) socks of doom to put the nail in the coffin of sockwars. While the idea of this “swap” seemed like it would be fun, I feel sort of blah about the whole endeavor. Of course, now I can say that I knit a complete pair of socks in less than twenty-four hours.
Also, if any of my readers have any tips on how to photograph knitting without it looking so blah, leave me a note in the comments.
